EASE redesign unveiled!

After many months of hard work, I am delighted to finally unveil the new, reimagined, reinvigorated, and redesigned EASE.

The change comes at an auspicious time in the Association’s history, in the year of its 40th anniversary (and my first full year of official Presidency). The new visual identity heralds even greater changes to the activities of the Association as it enters a new era, as a more digital-focussed, interactive, dynamic figure of the global scholarly research and publishing community.

Background to the change

In 2020, EASE members were surveyed for their opinions and perspectives on the Association, and were unanimous in recommending a modernisation to the image, which had remained largely unchanged since a restyle in the 1990’s.

The survey also offered a great deal of support, enthusiasm and trust in EASE as a valuable, progressive, informative and authoritative community.

As a result, EASE began a project of not only rejuvenating the image, but taking the chance to rebuild the website with much more functionality, and embarking on a new programme of events, resources and activities; enhancing benefits to members and the wider community. The new website at www.ease.org.uk is now live, and contains numerous significant structural and interactive changes to enhance the experience of regular members and new visitors. Major changes include:

  • Completely redesigned, fully digital online-magazine style EASE Digest (which will be launched in March)

  • EASE journal, European Science Editing has been treated to a full redesign, with a redesigned ARPHA website and new style articles - the first of which has been published, presentign the changes to the ICMJE Disclosure form

  • A new ‘panel’ presentation system giving more informative and intuitive access to all the features across the site.

  • Member dashboards giving them the ability to directly list editorial and training services in our directories, add events the public calendar and advertise jobs.

  • Brand new Resources database giving our members a fully interactive, dynamic interface to search for a wealth of guidance, tips, literature, tools and more.

  • Revamped Communities pages are our gateway to the resources, achievements, upcoming events and members of our Special Interest Committees and Regional Chapters.

  • New Events calendar, includes external global events, EASE events, plus Council and Committee dates to make it easier for members to attend, or submit proposals and questions.New Events calendar, includes external global events, EASE events, plus Council and Committee dates to make it easier for members to attend, or submit proposals and questions.
